Solving Problems

Deck: Hanson-Roberts

Question: There is a lot of conflict at work and I seem to be getting caught up in the middle of it. I don't want to take sides or get involved but there doesn't seem to be any way to avoid it. What should I do?

Card 1: The Substance. What is the necessity, the reality, the nitty-gritty of the situation? What action is required?

Card 2: The Shadow. What is not concrete, yet affects the situation? What is the hidden influence at work?

Ellen Lorenzi-Prince, Dark Goddess Tarot

Card 1 - Substance: The Hanged Man. The Hanged Man confirms your first instinct to not get involved and calmly wait out the situation. In this card, the person is shown meditating even though he is hanging in an uncomfortable posture, finding ways to go within himself and be at peace despite whatever is going on outside. In this situation, it will be best for you and all involved for one person, at least, to stay neutral and calm, to not add to the conflict. Do your best to clear your mind of anything other than the higher good and the reason you go to work, the job you have to do. If you can focus on your own inner well-being and doing your job to the best of your abilities, tuning out all the distractions, you will come through this unscathed.

Card 2 - Shadow: Nine of Wands, reversed. This card suggests some feelings that you are being attacked, or that you might be vulnerable and unable to defend yourself easily. There is a suggestion here of feeling alone among many or unsupported. You may find yourself feeling on the defensive for no apparent reason, alert for incoming attacks at any moment. The wound on this man's head suggests that you've been injured before in this kind of situation and this creates a subconscious concern or heightened sense of vigilance about it. However, this time it is not your fight and you do not have to enter into the battle. If you stay out of it you will more likely be seen as taking the high road and your managers will appreciate your focus on your work.
